M42, M43 and NGC1973 - also known as the "Running Man" Nebula.
This colorful photo was taken at the NCO Boon site on out October 1999 trip.
This is a one hour exposure taken with my 4" f6 refractor mounted on my G11
equatorial mount. The film used was Fuji Superia 800 X-Tra. The shot was
guided with my ST4 autoguider and C90 guide scope. I balanced the colors
and applied an "unsharp mask" using Adobe Photoshop.
