The Lagoon Nebula – M8, and the Trifid Nebula – M20 by Clay Kessler

The Lagoon Nebula – M8, and the Trifid Nebula – M20.

It was a little late in the season but I managed to squeak out a 45 minute exposure through the 4" f6 refractor. I have attempted many shots of this pair but focus and flexure have conspired against me up to this point. I consider this nice looking shot my incentive for trying harder next year. The small open cluster to the upper left of the Trifid is M21.
