Light Pillars over Cadillac

I did manage to photograph some gorgeous(?) pillars in Dec. I used PJ800 film 50mm lens @ f/2.8 for 30 sec. The picture looks like the rays are emanating from the Xmas lights but closer inspection shows them to be behind the background tree, from the city 2 miles away.
